…I first started writing for my high school paper at Berkeley High School, and one of the people I first interviewed was the “Bubble Lady,” whose real name is Julia Vinograd and is a fairly well-known poet. She used to wander around Telegraph Avenue in downtown Berkeley blowing bubbles from a plastic bottle, dressed in flowing medieval robes and sporting dozens of rings with glass eyes for pendants.
