David Manicom grew up on his parents farm in rural Ontario, and since then has lived in Toronto, Montreal, and Aylmer Quebec. He was educated at the University of Toronto and at McGill University, where he earned a Ph.D.in English. He has worked as a university lecturer, a freelance editor and reviewer and has published poetry, fiction, reviews and critical articles in Canada, the U.S. and Ireland. He served as an editor at the Montreal journal Rubicon for five years in the 1980s. He currently works in the Canadian Foreign Service.
